The new spacesuits will usher NASA’s astronauts into a new era of exploration: They’ll be the last suits astronauts wear to walk outside the International Space Station, which is retiring in 2030. They’ll be the suits that help NASA astronauts walk on the Moon for the first time in half a century. And they’ll help NASA prepare for eventual human missions to Mars. “History will be made with these suits,” Vanessa Wyche, director of NASA’s Johnson Space Center, said to reporters on Wednesday....

The rocket part hit the Moon on March 4, but astronomers only reported the discovery of the impact site last week. There’s now an eastern crater on the Moon about 18 meters in diameter (19.5 yards) that’s superimposed on a western crater measuring 16 meters in diameter (17.5 yards). According to NASA, the double crater may indicate that the rocket body had large masses at each end. So far, no other rocket crashes on the Moon have created double craters, even though Apollo SIV-B craters were larger....

Last year, 400 Native American tribes were awarded EBS spectrum, covering tens of thousands of square miles, often in remote areas, and millions of tribal members. The Tribal EBS program comprises spectrum on the 2.5 Ghz band, which is mature and can be found in the majority of mobile phones, telephone switching equipment and add-on devices. The new Nokia-NewCore initiative will use up to 117 MHz of the Tribal EBS band, making it suitable for 4G and offering a pathway to 5G....

The researchers used a dataset of 10,000 chip layouts to feed a machine-learning model, which was then trained with reinforcement learning. Building off its recent GTC announcements which introduced its Base Command software to control AI workloads, Nvidia said it had hooked up with NetApp to launch its cloud-based Base Command Platform, which will provide access to SuperPods from $90,000 a month later in the northern hemisphere summer. NetApp is providing the flash storage and managing the customers, with Nvidia owning the equipment that is housed in Equinix data centres. “The intent here is that customers can have access to this powerful supercomputer, the superpod just on a rental basis, they can experience it, they can do their work, and from there they can graduate to either acquiring their own superpod or to go and do AI at scale, for example in the public cloud,” Nvidia head of enterprise computing Manuvir Das said....
