The storage company reported second quarter revenue of $1.57 billion with net income of $224 million, or 98 cents a share. Non-GAAP earnings for the quarter were $1.28 a share. Wall Street was expecting NetApp to report second quarter revenue of $1.55 billion with non-GAAP earnings of $1.21 a share. The bulk of NetApp’s sales in the quarter were attributed to hybrid cloud deployments. For New South Wales, the COVID-19 digital vaccination certificate will be available on the ServiceNSW app for certain users based in Lismore, Port Macquarie, Tamworth, and Wagga Wagga. “Up to 500 customers, to be selected by the businesses involved, will participate in the pilot across Tamworth, Port Macquarie, Wagga Wagga and Lismore,” Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW Paul Toole said. Dubbed “NoReboot,” ZecOps’ proof-of-concept (PoC) attack is described as a persistence method that can circumvent the normal practice of restarting a device to clear malicious activity from memory. Making its debut with an analysis and a public GitHub repository this week, ZecOps said that the NoReboot Trojan simulates a true shutdown while providing a cover for the malware to operate – which could include the covert hijacking of microphone and camera capabilities to spy on a handset owner....

The cloud-based identity management firm reported a non-GAAP net loss of $11 million, or 7 cents per share. Total revenue was $351 million, an increase of 61% year-over-year. Vulnerable customers are defined as individuals who struggle month to month to meet basic needs such as bill payments. Among the hundreds of BEC cases Unit 42 tackled since the beginning of last year, researchers found that 89% of victims failed to turn on multi-factor authentication or follow best practices for its implementation. VMware released a patch for two critical remote code execution flaws on May 25. The two bugs, tracked as CVE-2021-21985 and CVE-2021-21986, have a severity rating of 9.8 out of 10 and 6.5 out of 10, respectively. The bugs affect VMware vCenter Server (vCenter Server) and VMware Cloud Foundation (Cloud Foundation). CISA has now warned that it is “aware of the likelihood that cyber-threat actors are attempting to exploit CVE-2021-21985”....
