For mobile developers, most exciting among the areas will be the addition of new viewport height and width units to determine the largest, smallest, and dynamic size of a dimension while scrolling – this is needed as mobile browsers hide the address bar when scrolling. Other areas of focus will be cascade layers, getting container queries to know a container’s dimensions to apply styles to work properly, dialog element, fixes to forms, subgrid, a group described as web compat issues....

Company officials also said today that the x64 emulation that it has made part of Windows 11 on Arm will only be coming to Windows 11 and not to Windows 10 on Arm. Microsoft originally announced that x64 emulation would be a Windows 10 on Arm feature. Unsurprisingly, Microsoft will be throttling the rollout of Windows 10 21H2, as it typically does these days with new Windows feature updates. That means not every eligible device will get notifications that users can download it immediately; instead, it will be offered first to devices where Microsoft believes users will have a good experience running the update....

At the WWDC keynote, Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering, outlined FaceTime updates in iOS 15 that include: Portrait mode. Federal civilian agencies have until March 8 to patch CVE-2022-23131 and CVE-2022-23134 – a Zabbix Frontend authentication bypass vulnerability and a Zabbix Frontend improper access control vulnerability. Zabbix is a popular open-source monitoring platform. Patches for the issues were released in December. Zabbix explained that in the case of instances “where the SAML SSO authentication is enabled (non-default), session data can be modified by a malicious actor, because a user login stored in the session was not verified....

Revenue in the quarter rose 62% year over year to $230.5 million, yielding a profit of 14 cents per share. Analysts had been modeling $208.43 million in revenue and 12 cents per share.
