Microsoft Makes Windows Subsystem For Linux For Windows 11 A Separate App In The Microsoft Store

Last year, Microsoft announced it was removing the Linux kernel from the Windows OS image with WSL2 and would, instead, deliver it to users’ machines using Windows update. WSL enables developers to run a GNU/Linux environment – including most command-line tools, utilities, and applications – directly on Windows, unmodified, without a virtual machine or dual-boot setup.
